You made a concept car, and then made a production vehicle that very much carries on the design language and defining features. I’m sad they toned down the hips, but I’m glad they made the eyes a bit less squinty.

It’s got the typical concept to production problem of keeping the styling elements but losing the good proportions, which IMO are more important to a design’s attractiveness than design cues.

Soooo this is basically the next Vauxhall\Opel Insignia then??? Nice looking car tbf, for it’s segment.

Not quite. The Lacrosse slots above the Insignia/Regal. But certain design cues are probably going to be seen on the next gen Insignia such as the grille. The Lacrosse would make a great Vauxhall/Opel flagship imo.

Exactly! Absolutely not the same car. The prototype/concept had the proportions of a Bentley or maybe even an old W126 S-class, whereas the production car is just another round-ish mid-sizer.

If I squint my eyes I can certainly see some similarities to the first gen Carlton/Omega headlights.

I’m not a Buick fan but I have to admit that they did helluva job there.

I saw one of these in camo in DC over new years a couple weeks ago.
